Kayle Sandberg-Lewis

LMT, MA, BCN Senior Fellow

Hive Mind Medicine Co-Owner

Kayle Sandberg-Lewis is committed to offering a non-drug, non-invasive approach to performance training directed at maximizing brain function. She holds a master’s degree in behavioral medicine from Goddard.

Behavioral Medicine is an interdisciplinary degree combining:

  • Health Psychology — a multi-layered or bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to comprehensive well-being.

  • Psychophysiology — stress management and self-regulation techniques including general biofeedback and neurofeedback, specifically designed to address issues in the central nervous system.

  • Learning Theory & Curriculum Design — important for tailoring interventions to the individual.

Because of this background, Kayle effectively works with a broad spectrum of people, helping them make more appropriate choices affecting their health.

The goals of the suite of trainings Kayle uses are to

  • Increase self-awareness.

  • Increase the brain’s ability to organize itself.

  • Allow the brain to interrupt maladaptive patterns to optimize its level of functioning and forestall the effects of aging.

While no promise can be made for specific results, the many tools Kayle has for exercising the brain and calming the central nervous system (CNS) help her help others address many issues.

Commonly presented problems are:

  • Brain fog – whether from chemotherapy, traumatic brain injuries or Covid.

  • Balance issues

  • Anxiety

  • Attention issues

  • Disrupted sleep

  • Chronic pain including headaches

Kayle is not a psychotherapist. She does NOT address:

  • Psychotic disorders

  • Severely disordered eating

  • PANS or PANDAS

  • Drug or alcohol detox

Kayle incorporated general biofeedback into her stress management practice in the early 1990’s and is board certified as a provider of neurofeedback. She mentors other practitioners both through her private practice and as adjunct faculty at National University of Natural Medicine. She is particularly drawn to using neurofeedback to help forestall age-related cognitive decline and to work with survivors of traumatic and acquired head injuries. She provides free neurofeedback for US armed forces veterans injured during training or their service. She does so on a space available basis.

In addition, Kayle, licensed in Oregon as a massage therapist, is certified as a provider of infant massage education. Guiding new parents in positive, loving touch with their babies gives her great joy and reinforces her hope for the future.

Kayle was born and raised in southwest Washington and although she finds travel enriching, she feels blessed to call the Pacific Northwest home. When not at work, she enjoys reading, gardening & walking. Her favorite forms of artistic expression are embroidery, drawing, and writing. She and her husband, Steven, have two adult sons.
